Terms of use

The plain-language deal for using Move Me Fund, for both movers and gift-givers.

Written in plain language so it's easy to read. By using Move Me Fund, you agree to these terms.

What Move Me Fund is

Move Me Fund is a tool that lets a mover create a fund and lets friends and family send money framed as a gift, not a donation, purchase, or investment. We also offer a help registry for people who want to lend a hand instead of, or alongside, giving.

Gifts, fees, and the money

  • No platform fee, ever. 100% of every gift reaches the mover. Move Me Fund is free to use and never takes a cut of a gift.
  • Gifts go directly to the mover on PayPal. When you give, we send you to the mover's own PayPal.me link and you pay them on PayPal's site. There is no moving company in the middle, no escrow, and no rule that holds funds until a date.
  • We never touch the money. Move Me Fund is not part of the payment. We don't receive, hold, or route your funds, so we are not a bank, escrow service, payment processor, or money transmitter. Your gift is governed by PayPal's own user agreement.
  • Refunds and payment disputes are handled between the giver, the mover, and PayPal under PayPal's policies. A mover keeps whatever they raise (no all-or-nothing).

Using the service responsibly

  • Create a fund only for a genuine move, and describe it truthfully.
  • Do not use the service for fraud, harassment, or anything unlawful.
  • Respect the privacy of movers and helpers: do not share a private link or anyone's personal details without permission.
  • Suspected abuse can be reported from any campaign page; accounts that break these terms may be suspended.

Accounts

You sign in with a magic link sent to your email; keep access to that inbox secure. You are responsible for the content of the funds you create. You can request deletion of your account and funds at any time. See our Privacy policy.

No warranty; limits

The service is provided "as is." Because gifts are sent directly on PayPal, Move Me Fund is not a party to any payment and, to the extent the law allows, is not liable for the conduct of movers, givers, or helpers, for disputes between them, or for anything that happens on PayPal. Nothing here is tax or legal advice.
